Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe machine for coffee and tea was in the public part shared with the others rooms. However, there were on arrival just 3 plastic cups of small size available, no cups for the big size. The machine had the option for small and for big size fillings. Those small size cups were used up over the weekend and were not replaced till Thuesday. We managed with normal cups from our room. The water cooker in our room did not work.
We appreciated that we could enter the appartment a few hours before the official check-in. The location on the main cathedral square was perfect.

United StatesSee bad news / good news above.
We didn't end up staying here, not by choice, but also NOT the fault of management! The morning before we arrived in Como, there was a fire in the building containing our apartment and we learned on arrival that our lodging was uninhabitable! We appreciated that the landlord, a multi-city management company, had an on-call local representative, however, who was very responsive, as was Booking.com's customer service. Between them they found us an alternative lodging, not quite as well located, but less expensive, and adequate for our purposes. Great customer service overall, given the extraordinary circumstances.

Italythe overall service location and facilities doesn’t justify the cost of the room. yes. it’s just a room afterall. and even if it’s in the center of the walled city of Como… the cost is still too high. the floor isn’t that clean and they do not offer slippers so you need to bring your own. the pins to the entrance is a bit challenging to insert specially for the first time. it took me 3times to finally open the door. the faucet sort of leak. the balcony. the balcony is almost just a word. so don’t expect too much when they say there’s a balcony. and the view isn’t of the curch/duomo. we got room 4 family room.. and just don’t get your hopes too much. if you need a room to sleep.. and a decent bathroom you’ll have that. i just think that the room is well presented on the khottos and even the descriptions depicts a very ideal room to stay. it kind of put your expectations a couple of notch higher —- justifying the price also—— and will disappoint you upon arriving to the actual room.
location wise one of the best within the old city walls of Como.

FinlandWe stayed 2 nights here and were only provided half a toilet roll and when we asked for more they told us to buy more, that they only provide the essential..which I thought was pretty riddiculous that they don't even give you 1 full toilet roll for that short of a stay.
Clean room, with a good aircon. Great location, close to everything.

AzerbaijanThe room was not spacious. We hardly moved in that tiny room. The bed was not comfortable. Consequently, I think the guest house was overpriced for what it offered.
İt is just 15 minutes walk away from Como San Giovanni train station. Less than 10 minutes to Como Nord Lago train station. There is a kettle and refrigerator in the room. It is self-check property. The day you arrive they send you instructions on how to get into the apartment and the room. It is super easy. You can find some restaurants and cafes around the guest house.

UkraineA bit slow response in booking.com chat (8-12 hours), but they provide phone number and answer to call, but if you guest come from abroad, you not always can call in other country. The online check-in is to be made using online form, where they promise you should find on check in day the instructions, it didn't work for us, but a bit later owner provided instructions separately. Mold in the shower. Fridge didn't work at all, the temperature inside it was the same as in the room. The hair dryer stopped blowing hot air a minute after it was turned on, and began to emit a burning smell. It's obviously broken. No window in the room, just small one in bathroom. All of these could be more or less accepted by us with understanding if not the price of apartment - for 150 euros per night you will get simple room (number 4) with shower cabin with mold, with broken fridge and hair dryer. It is inadequate, and shouldn't happen...
Excellent location, at the main square with Duomo, 5 mins by walk to the lake, 10-15 – to the train station. It's possible to leave luggage after check out in the corridor. Big smart TV. Despite it's located at the central square, the sound from it didn't reach the room. Bathroom is spacious. Overall, clean room despite empty bottle in the safe.

FinlandThis is something that cannot be avoided in an old building: the rooms are quite dark, and this is one of the oldest buildings in Como. The room has two big windows but as the view is blocked by other buildings, you do not get much daylight. However, just step outside and you are on the main square and can enjoy the beautiful city.
The location is brilliant, just across the Duomo. Luckily the bells don´t start before 8 a.m. The room is small, yet very nicely done, the bed was very comfortable (which is so so rare in Italy, usually the beds are hard as a rock), the tv is big, the bathroom is big and modern. The shower is very good, but since it has no handset, it is difficult to shower without getting your hair wet. There is a coffee maker in the hallway, which is great and a small fridge in the room. I was missing glasses for water in the room, but the mugs did the job. If you bring any food to the room, make sure to bring your own spoon/fork/knife as there are none available. The only table+chairs are on the little balcony. No lift, but easy staircase. The main station S.Giovanni (long distance trains and to Milano Centrale) is about 15 min walk away, easy route. The harbor is 5 min walk away, allow some time to queue for tickets, especially the speed boats were crowded even early May.

GermanyThe apartment has a very small balcony with a view of the back of another building. The room was very small and the bed quite uncomfortable. The rooms were not at all soundproof and we could hear our neighbour coughing consistently. Our neighbour was smoking often and the whole apartment smelt of smoke.
