Great location, friendly and helpful staff, spacious car park on the premises (however, can be very busy with no parking spaces left, but there is a free car park just before the hotel near Embassy of Belarus/Hesburger, it's only a minute walk to it), rooms were clean, plenty of towels available.
The breakfast seemed to be ok, plenty of choice between cold and hot food... unfortunately had a coffee for my breakfast only, as we were leaving early each day and it was too early for any food. It's a nice and clean hotel for reasonable price.
Set in Daugavpils, SanMari features a fitness centre, restaurant, bar, and free WiFi throughout the property.

Excellent breakfast, nice gym - all necessary items. Woke up because of train but anyway felt back to sleep fast. Corner for kids seems very nice. There was pool and sauna - next time I will definitely use it.

Daugavpils is not a huge city, but for 1 or 2 days it surely has its charme. The city centre's architecture is quite picturesque, and don't miss out on the churches and the synagogue. (It is worth sending an e-mail and asking for a visit, even though the guide's English is a bit rusty. Nevertheless a very positive experience.) Also, you must visit the old fortress (take tram no. 3).

You have to see the geographic map of Daugavpils to understand its traditional significance as a city that connects four major cities in the region - the city has everything you need - and all in few minutes walking from each other - and if you compare the prices with that of RIGA - well minus 40% easily.. You will enjoy this place

I wish we had more time in Daugavpils!
I wish we had more time in Daugavpils! The city center is wonderfully renovated and reminds me of Liepaja, Riga and St Petersburg all at the same time. The whole city is an eclectic mix of tsarist barracks and typical Soviet houses. The center is walkable and has several great restaurants and cafes to enjoy, as well as green parks to cool off in the summer heat. Try to visit the fortress if you can, and enjoy Daugava's twists and turns around Daugavpils.

There is not much to do in winter time in Daugavpils.
There is not much to do in winter time in Daugavpils. However, many people visiting their parents and friends during Christmas and New Eve and usually silent city becomes more lively. Lazy walks, simple excursions, occasional lunches and coffee breaks, cinemas which run movies in Russian. Daugavpils holds an impressive heritage of architecture presented by building from IX-X. Fortress is just amazing! Rothko art museum is very interesting. For ghost cities fans, recommend to visit former Chemical fibers manufacture.

Unexpected and not much recommended in tour guides.
Unexpected and not much recommended in tour guides. However Daugavpils is worth visiting! Make sure to visit the fort, it's immense and it's something else. Quite some history. Try to check out the history of Daugavpils as well, it's interesting with huge Russian influences. Nowadays it's refererred to as Little Russia (so we heard) and it certainly has the vibe. You have to like it, it's a little rough around the edges.
Unfortunately we only had a short day there and only went to the Fort. That being said, that alone is already worth the effort.

I like the city.
I like the city. I think, I will go for weekend a second time.
I rekommend you to make a walk in Daugavpils castle (latvian- Cietoksnis)! Walk to Dubrovin's park and Dubrovin monument.
Look for a nice architecture of end ot 19.th century and begining of 20th century in the city center.
Take a tram and go to Stropi lake public beach and promenade. (Now, at the end of 2019 year, there are some very nice historic trams, abot 40 years old. It operates on the 3th line from Castle to Stropi lake. Like a museum tram in city traffic.)
Very nice, helpful and flexible stuff. Early served, rich breakfast in terms of starters and main dishes (even roasted chicken was there). Well-equiped room. Modern, wide bed (could fit two). Bed linens so white - looked like new. "Last minute" discount - nice surprise.
Not the first time in this hotel. Recommend. Popular among those on business trips.
The apartment is located right in the heart of the city and offers all the amenities a tourist on a budget might be in need of. I've stayed in some Daugavpils hotels that felt less comfortable than this apartment. It's clean, affordable, has a kitchen, and washing machines downstairs. I also appreciate hassle-free lockbox checking in and out.
Apartament was clean with all facilities. Excellent location, next to main tourist street, close to all attractions - we got everywhere by foot. Best restaurants (Skovorotka and Papa Sushi) round the corner. We liked Daugavpils a lot, we were to some attractions, but the best one was - Skrošu Fabrika - Must see in Daugavpils!!! Best guides!
The room was very clean, location very central, parking for free. Breakfast - tasty and good variety, including local recipes. Staff was exceptional - helpful and was speaking excellent Latvian! Very good SPA amenities - a pool and a Turkish bath.
Extremely hospitable staff, comfortable and spacious room with a luxuriant tub and very pleasant balcony with a view over the greens facing the hotel, as well as an elegant church. Perfect location in the centre of town.
- Cheap hotel
- Very good location
- Friendly staff
- Homey hotel/breakfast
- Unusual chickens as pets on hotel area, funny chickens.
Sometimes thinking that this hotel should increase its prices a bit.
Cozy, warm room, nice personal breakfast. Very clean, considering that the hotel doesn't seem to be renovated lately. All in all a good option in a great location. Parking is a bit tight.
A nice hotel, easy to park a car.Not far from a city center. Room was warm, clean and comfortable. Room is quite spacious with nice bed. The stuff was really nice and friendly.
Amazing location, good breakfast. Hotel is situated in the heart of Daugavpils. Everything is reachable on foot. Pederstrian street with restaurants and shops are close by.
Great location. The staff was very welcoming and had great communication skills.
The room was clean and warm.
Me and my son enjoyed our stay at this hotel. 👌🏽🫶🏽
