I visited Portsaid 5 years ago and the city wasn't in it's best condition. But really this visit was different. The streets are clean and well maintained, the variety of restaurants and coffeeshops is nice.
Little tip, the beach in Port Fouad is much nicer and relaxing than Portsaid and the view of the ships entering the open sea is amazing.
I don't recommend sho

This is not ancient Egypt and some parts of the city can appear very run down, especially the commercial area of downtown, so it takes a short while to get used too. However, the endless deep sandy beach with no end of cafes and beach facilities is what makes this a centre of domestic tourism. Also, the beach road strip is full of great food options - the De Lesseps Avenue is a row of food outlets in shipping containers - very industrial chic. The town itself has very smart parks which are lively and buzzy especially in the evening and no end of magnificant churches and mosques. Also, the amazing late 19C wooden balconied tenaments that characterise the downtown area are amazing, if appearing to be on the verge of collapse. The continuous ferry service, free, no wait time, to get across to Port Faoud is a must, the lovely villas and cottages built for the canal workers make for a great stroll. The Famous Canal Port Office is inaccessible and under major restoration and the lighthouse cannot be visited, but these along with more quirky architecture can be still be seen. As I say, not ancient and certainly a little odd, but well worth a visit if you check out what to see and read up a bit before you arrive.

The hotel we stayed in was beautiful with spacious rooms . The fact that it is located right in the middle of the city had its own advantages; we had ease of access to the tourist attractions and shopping areas. The staff are super friendly and super helpful especially the staff at the reception. We had breakfast at the hotel which though satisfactory, could do with more variety. There are several fast food joints but we could have wished for more local cuisine.
The cabs are super efficient with standard charges; no hiking of fares for foreigners detected. We visited the salt mountain in Port Fuad, used the ferry which is free. Went to the lake with flamingoes and also visited the amazing St. Marks Church. We chanced on a second hand market opposite the fish market selling amazing stuff.
Port Said is clean, organized and unique .
All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would most certainly visit Port Said again.

It is a wonderful city needs more staying but the price of rooms are higher than the same stars in Cairo as I spent 3 days in Cairo and paid 450 LE per night and there was internet in the room and good view from window.
Staying at the Palma hotel was an absolute delight! The staff exuded warmth and hospitality, making us feel incredibly welcome throughout our entire stay. Not only were they cheerful, but they were also incredibly helpful, always going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. And let's talk about breakfast – it was a culinary masterpiece! The diverse selection of high-quality ingredients made each morning a delightful culinary adventure. Can't wait to return for another unforgettable experience!
The location is excellent and close to all the city's attraction sites. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout my entire stay. They went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. The room was clean and comfortable, and had all the amenities I needed.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at this hotel; Marom Port Said Resort, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Port Said.
On check in the reception could not find our booking. Original price was $22.50 but they made us pay $29.24.
We got room 203. 2 People but only 1 towel. No toilet paper in the room. .Used soap from the previous guest still on the basin. TV not working.
It took 2 visits to reception before we got fresh towels and new soap and toilet paper.
Disgusting. This is NOT a hotel. It is cheap Hostel behaviour.
Every thing was excellent, Staff specially Mr Mohamed and Essam at reception. Maintenance gentleman who fixed the safe, and Mahmoud the bellman. Staff in general was professional and pleasant!
Food was exceptional and varaiety of it.
Location also in the centre of beautiful Port Said near the ferry to Port Foad.
Suit was huge and over looking the next door property's giant swimming pool.
Thanks
Rooms look directly onto the waves breaking on the shore; the sound of the breakers at night induces a marvelously deep sleep. In the morning you can open the balcony doors and the whole of the Mediterranean is there before you. Right now, before the resort is established it's very quiet, too. Moreover it is only a 100LE taxi ride from Port Said.
For those who like spending time and staying up late at night in a variety of cafes, malls and recreational parks, Al Jawhara Hotel will be your preferred choice, with its privileged location within one of the most beautiful and famous streets of Port Said. The one for high class shopping areas.
The location is great but the room has no view The breakfast was great and the suite was nice and clean The facilities were good the swimming pool was clean
the price i think was over rated
I recommend the hotel specially if its price was cheaper
Mr. Mohammed, the owner, is very nice, friendly and welcoming, he made us feel very welcome .

The location is ok and there is restaurant and café around the Helnan hotel .
This hotel has a lot of potential to be one of the best spots in the world. You wake up seeing a ship sailing under your window. Staff are so polite. Breakfast is Egyptian style with some international food as well.

I liked everything in the hotel. The staff was really really friendly and very welcoming. Mr Mostafa and bassem made sure all our requirements were delivered and gave us the best stay.
This is my 2nd time to stay at this hotel. It’s very convenient and comfortable, the staff are also very friendly and supportive. The rooms are very well decorated and comfortable.
I like that it is the only one of two hotels in port said that you can stay with a minimum definition of being in a two or one star hotel .. the rest is far below ..
