The location is lovely and the city easily accessible by bus. The staff was friendly and quickly fixed any problems. The facilities and garden are relaxing. The pool was quiet and refreshing. Breakfast was nice and there were plenty of options. We had a lovely two night stay.

Lüneburg may not be on the hot "tourist trail", but it's a beautiful, small, north German city, with great architecture, and quite a few good restaurants. The Johanneskirche, with a gorgeous interior and an enormous tower, warrants a visit to Lüneburg all by itself!

I had nowhere near enough time to explore all the features, medieval architecture and history of Luneburg so I can't really give it a proper review. If you are a fan of history and historic sites and old towns dating back to medieval times, you must visit Luneburg and try to plan on at least 3 or 4 days!

The city is over 1000 years old.
The city is over 1000 years old. It wasn't much destroyed during WWII so it's one of the most amazing examples of architecture from the Middle Ages to the 1900s. But it's also very alive. The mix of people is Lueneburgers, students from all over the world and tourists. The vibe is historic chill - because all the old buildings are being used today. History comes to life in this town. I highly recommend it and I have traveled the world.

A very popular tourist destination, full of history and associated architecture and well worth a stay of two or three days. All the principal attractions are within walking distance of the railway station. The Deutsche Salzmuseum was superb and very informative about salt extraction and processing. The 'Krone' restaurant (Heiligengeiststraße 39-41) with its Lüneburger Pfannenschlag and draught Lüneburger is good for a filling lunch.

Beautiful town. Wonderful to walk through.
Beautiful town. Wonderful to walk through. Not far from major city of Hamburg or Hannover making it very easy to get to and from. My family is from this city which makes this a very comfortable place to visit. shopping is good, restaurants are very good. If you are visiting Germany and really crave Italian food, Osteria is highly recommended. :-)

We spent 1 day in Lüneburg and that was just perfect.
We spent 1 day in Lüneburg and that was just perfect.
Beautiful historic city with tons of beautiful houses.
We walked through the city in the day, and enjoyed the river environment and restaurants by night.
Ferienwohnung Klosterquartier was a wonderful holiday house for my family. Centrally located to downtown Lüneburg; everything you need is within walking distance. Having separate bedrooms for my teenage sons was very nice, as was the full bath and half bath. The kitchen is well equipped for making meals. If the weather was better, there is table/chairs in the garden for outdoor dining. Communicating with the owner was always met with immediate answers. A truly great house to be able to rent for a long holiday.
A very cozy hotel in a historical building, perfectly located in the center of Lüneburg. The personnel were very nice and the cafe some nice options, including vegan options. Rooms were super tidy and looked gorgeous and gave you a feeling of being in the modern age while still feeling the significance of an old building with endless stories to tell. It was within walking distance of shops, restaurants and attractions, so a perfect place to stay if you want a romantic mid-city hotel experience.
My room was at the top floor, with a great view of historic Lüneburg. The room was exceptionally clean and except for a hot water kettle all basic needs were met – and I got a kettle when I asked for one at the reception desk. The TV was great, too, and the beds are nice and comfy. The location next to the park and spa is also great, and although I did not use it, Salü seems like a sure recommendation as well. Walking distance to several stores and the city center was also much appreciated.
A really nice boutique hotel near the centre of beautiful Luneburg. The room was simply furnished, but spacious with a very comfortable bed and excellent bathroom. Like most hotels in Germany, there was no air conditioning so it was quite warm even if the outside temperaturewas only in the low 20s.. A fan helped but it would be unbearable in really hot weather. Breakfast was great and parking was secure and easy (if not exactly next door).
The location was ideal for Luneburg Heide (north) and Luneburg. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We were accommodated in the annex house which had very generous room space and comfortable beds. Breakfast was very generous with a good choice, but the bread was located on a fairly high shelf so tricky to reach. We also had dinner in the hotel, much of the menu was locally sourced and there was a wide selection with generous portions.
The outdoor grill and oven was great; tourist restaurants in the downtown of Luneburg are quite expensive. Kitchen, for the most part, is equipped with what is needed for cooking.
Nice that there are two separate bedrooms and there was a table with a lamp on top to facilitate using my
laptop computer.
Just one kilometer from the center of Luneburg. 800 meters from the rail station.
Cute and cozy layout.
Host speaks English.
Very modern business style hotel in a small estate to the east of the town. Some distance from the railway station and needing a taxi or one's own vehicle. There is a bus service near the estate entrance, but this was not explored. Ask the friendly and helpful staff for further details. Rapid wi-fi connection. Very large, quiet and fully equipped room and spacious bathroom. Good restaurant and bar, with Luneburger on draught.
The breakfast was very good - much better than I would have expected for a hotel at this price. There was a great selection of meats and cheeses. The warm bread rolls were very good. There was more coffee than I could drink. The staff at breakfast were good.
The location was very convenience for the railway station - the reason for choosing this hotel.
The staff was really good and I was alone and finding it difficult to reach the hotel in the night as there were no bus service to the nearest bust stop of the hotel. The staff was kind enough to pick me up from where I was stuck. Really nice furnishing, neat and well maintained rooms.
The hotel has a great location and is clean. Good coffee. There was much choice at the breakfast buffet (even though the quality of what you got, such as the teabags, breakfast rolls, the cheese was mediocre. and the fruit salad).
Nice hotel in a beautiful city. Close to the river and the old town. Super friendly staff, great room, comfy bed, snacks in the lobby and even got an upgrade for a bed with river view for free.
We absolutely ADORED this hotel. The pictures did not do it justice — it’s much more updated and luxurious, with a rustic charm. A definite must stay if you’re visiting Lüneberg!
Great location. Breakfast was very good. The rooms and bath was very clean. Staff was pleasant. Check in and out was easy. The hotel is a quiet and comfortable place to stay.
