This is such a wonderful hotel with amazing welcoming and helpful staff and wonderful food. It is such a stunning part of the world and Sabai absolutely showcases the splendors of the beach and jungle. Everything we needed we got, including a trip to the National Aviary which was magnificent. Everyone at Sabai was fantastic, helpful, bright and warm, and the property was just beautiful. The food was especially excellent.

Wow this location is AMAZING.
Wow this location is AMAZING. Truly it was a private beach all to ourselves… only one other couple there on our first night. The property only has 4 rooms total so you’re never going to have a bunch of people there. The staff were SO accommodating and patient with our lack of ability to speak Spanish. We only speak English, staff only spoke English but they always used translation making it very easy to communicate! I saw other reviews complaining about the food being overpriced and no hot water for the shower which seems silly to me after now experiencing how remote this place is! It was my toddlers first travel experience, and I was SO happy with the comfort Carey House offered. Is it a luxury hotel, no. But does it have everything you need on a remote beach location with PERFECT Carribean swimming and the best staff ever? Yes. We will be coming back!

I love how close the place is to nature, beach is amazing , the rustic cabanas are beautiful .The only thing I didn’t like it were the locals trying to sell their products in a way that can be annoying.

The only way to get from the arrival area to your hotel is to walk along the beach with your luggage or by boat. When the seas are ruff and there are no boats you must carry your luggage through the sand and water. Depending where your hotel is, that could be a mile. There is one tiny bodega on the beach to buy soda and beer and not much else. It’s best for a short stay.

Horrible place, instead of the sea breeze you'll enjoy exhaust from the dozens of motorboats and scooters cruising everywhere without any rules. They make a horrible noise all over the day, combined with loud music from each bar it caused a headache. Food and drinks are extremely expensive, we got poisoned by some food there being sick for 3 days.
Trash is everywhere behind the beach line.

Before 11 am and after 5 pm, it is beautiful.
Before 11 am and after 5 pm, it is beautiful. Between those hours, however, there are an overwhelming number of visitors and vendors. The water is full of so many people offering rides on jetskis, banana boats, tour boats, etc, that rather than smell the ocean air you smell gas. If you want peace and quiet you need to trek about 2 kms to the peaceful section of Playa Blanca.

Baru was a big surprise for us in all the right ways.
Baru was a big surprise for us in all the right ways.
Family of 3 with a 10 year old, stayed 6 days, 2 different hotels.
Beautiful white sandy beaches, turquoise colored waters and fresh sea food ( learn your prices and always check before accepting anything).
The family time spent there is unforgettable. The people are kind and respectful. The island is safe and after 4pm starts to calm down and at 7-8 pm it's quiet and peaceful.
Most people spent a day and leave, but i recommend you stay and do the activities. We did snorkeling and raccon as well as the Plancton (DO NOT MISS IT! ).

Soy Local Baru if you want the authentic and exclusive experience 5⭐️
Nena beach resort AC, pool and beach beds.
The only thing we liked was the ocean was really close to us, there was no power light and water for restrooms, and Natalia was very rude and she blocked us from whatsapp, I spend one night but it was hell because there was no electricity for the fans, and this island is extremely hot, the power plant was out of gas and I think they should be prepare with extra gas, to take care of their costumers. They only good thing was Jose the groundskeeper, very nice person.
This is one of the best properties on the island, because you're literally a step away from the water. The waters are crystal blue, and the views a once in a lifetime experience. You also get to know the other guests in the house because everyone is sharing the same common space.
Keep in mind every property on the island is very rustic, and you probably won't have much internet access - but this was a welcome break for me.
The hotel is right on a white sand beach, and all rooms have stunning ocean views. It has all the amenities we need. Though we only used our room for a day trip, we enjoyed every bit of a few hours there. One of the owner/managers arranged the transportation to go back to our Cartagena airbnb, to the extent he walked with us in the night to the cab parked some distance away. We very much appreciated it!
The place and staff are amazing!
The landscape where the hotel is located is just fantastic.
The room gives a unique and exquisite experience, including the shower. I loved it!
The owners of the hotel, Juan Camilo and his mother, are extremely kind and friendly, also the food was very tasty and a generous menu with multiple options.
I highly recommend spending a few nights there.
The island was absolutely beautiful. The rooms were sparkling clean and looked amazing with great views of the ocean and pool! The all inclusive meals were out of this world everything tasted amazing and they had plenty of different options each night! The bartender at the pool was really great and friendly! The serving staff was incredible! Definitely will be coming back again!
Overall we really enjoyed our stay there. Mostly due to the fact that it was low season and we had most of the hotel to ourselves!
- The room was beautiful, spacious, very comfortable with a magnificent shower. A delight.
- The pool was spacious and nice
- The restaurant has an incredible view of the ocean that never gets old
- Mostly, the staff was really helpful and welcoming
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, very spacious with plenty of places to sit and have breakfast. The food is great but pricy, but then again you're in a beautiful beach resort in a tropical paradise so who cares. The hotel is right on the beach, you open your room doors and the tropical paradise beach is staring you in the face. The staff was great, very friendly.
It is an hotel quite remote and we didn’t realise that. You can only arrive by taxi plus boat. Room was clean and people friendly but all very very basic! View of the sea is amazing and it is a very peaceful place if you want to detox. Food excellent but menu very limited and service sometime very slow if busy (and for busy I’m taking about 4 tables to serve)
The visit was fantastic! I'd definitely recommend this hotel. The location was great and a super fun experience. The staff was excellent and very attentive. It was a bit hot during sleep, however, fans were provided. The rooms only have shutters but the bug nets seemed to work well. Our kids loved the beach, the food, and the hotel in general.
This was a perfect choice on Baru. Really chilled vibe, not pretentious at all. Hammocks, canoes and right on the beach. The hut was simple but had everything you needed showers, plugs, balcony, comfy bed. Also we highly recommend eating there as Marco is an amazing chef and food is reasonably priced. All in all was a very refreshing stay
The location was a bit remote but that is what also made it wonderful. The staff was very kind and the food was excellent. By far the best ceviche I had in Colombia. The rooms we very nice and the beds were very comfortable. The views were spectacular. I would definitely stay here again.
this hotel is amazing. You can take a helicopter directly from aiport to the hotel property. Then you can easily schedule boats to islands off shore. The architecture/design of hotel is best in world. We had Teddie and Luis for snorkeling and glow in the dark plankton boat trips.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The pool was a great way to escape the midday heat and crowds on the beach. The food was well prepared. I appreciated that there was always somewhere for hotel guests to sit and relax, even with day time visitors.
This hotel is really amazing for a beautiful relaxing stay in Baru. The staff is super friendly and always eager to help. The restaurant has some of the best food we had tried in Colombia. The beach is super clean and peaceful. Would definitely come back!
Hotel is located away from any crowds directly at sea side. Nice equipped outside area, you donˋt feel other guests being around. Very friendly and helpful stuff. Wifi was working well, Shower was hot with good pressure.
I love staying in that marvelous place, Daniel is kind and willing to help in anything you need. He can recommend cheap tours and activities to do around Barú and Islas del Rosario. The food is mouthwatering.
Excellent location at the end of Playa Blanca, away from the crowds, the only downside is there's no beach in front of the hotel however it's beautiful right on the rocks with the waves crashing below you!
Amazing location just in front of a wonderful beach. Not too many people compared to the rest of Baru. The people are very kind and ready to help you at all times.
