How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Very loud noise from a neighbouring property one morning at 6am, not the fault of the hostel obviously but worth mentioning
Really great hostel, top pool area and bar with daily dance classes. Beautifully maintained grounds. Staff were amazing, helpfully allowing us to store luggage for a few days whilst away.

the restaurant was really taking its time during breakfast. To prepare the breakfast (pancakes) took nearly 45 minutes and then the food didn’t even arrive simultaneously with our other dishes. also the WiFi is very poor. but this is the Problem with most hostels in Columbia
the hostel is great centrally located and has a 24-hour reception, which was super, because we decided to take the night bus from cartagena to palomino and therefore arrived late at night. Alba at the reception is one reason, why we liked the hostel so much. she spreads a very chill vibe and helps with any problem, there might be. multiple times she recommended restaurants or trips during the day. she even haggled the price down for a mototaxi ride to casteño beach. the baños are super clean and the dorms and privates comfortable. we would definitely come back to tiki hut hostel!

To be honest i have stayed more than 500 hostels in my life all around the world, and Tiki Hut is definitely at my Top 3. I love it in all sense. The atmosphere is amazing and so suitable for socializing. Stuff is super kind and helpful. Alba and the curly hair cute girl in the reception will make your stay worth it. There are pools, jakuzi, a lot of showers, bar, playing area and so on. I definitely recommend to everyone. You will not regret but you will love staying at Tiki!

The pool is fantastic en the beds at the pool are comfortabel. The staff is amazing and helpful. The entertainment in the evening is also good. The bungalow is great and it is very nice to be so close to the nature (the bungalow is not closed and for some spots in the open air). Of course you get a good mosquito net. I love our stay here.

Lots of mosquitos. Toilets are with gravel so if the drunk guys miss it starts smelling like a cat's litter box. Which can not be cleaned because of the gravel. There was actually some mold growing between the gravel. Showers are cold water only. But I got used to it after the lost city hike (I recommend going)
Pool is nice. Jacuzzi very nice and big. Good place to meet other travelers. Good vibe. Nice staff. Beds are not comfortable.

I couldn't stay longer :(
I would definitely come back!!:) I really enjoyed my stay here, such a good vibe, close to the beach, sunsets by the pool with great latino music (and dancers:)) were amazing and staffs were very nice and friendly!

Wifi was terrible everywhere on the property, maybe the worst I experienced in my two months traveling Colombia. Jacuzzi was the same temperature as the pool, I am unsure if they have the ability to heat it or not.
The staff goes above and beyond. They are all very engaging and work hard to ensure each guest feels welcome and has a good stay. The property is beautiful and I appreciated that they had different activities, such as salsa classes or games, each evening. Location is great, on the main road, a couple minutes walk from the beach. On-site restaurant is also wonderful.

everything was great the best wifi in palomino 100 ft from the beach .. the food is amazing every plate you try is an experience. i had to work there and i was abke to get on my meetings with no problem .. the bar and cocktails are really good … i want to live here
