Best value hostel in Colombia! Big food and drink portions, fun staff and it’s a 1min walk to the beach. The owner is super chill and will help you out with anything. I came to stay here for 2 nights and kept extending my stay because I didn’t want to leave.

Our room was next to where the macaws stayed and they would wake us up in the early hours every morning. Lovely birds but not so lovely screaming noises at 5am!!

Great location close to the beach and restaurants, the staff were enthusiastic and happy to help with any needs. The free drinks is a great addition. A lovely hostel for a great price.

My stay was great! Everything was perfect. The owner is a really good guy who is running his hostel cuz of his passsion not to make a money. You have free access to water, tea And coffe all day also free class of yoga every morning!It is 20 m from the beach And they have 2 parrots And 1 owl.

Great place, great vibe the people workibg there súper friendly. There is a great free yoga class in the mornings and live music during some of the nights. It was such a happy surprise find this gem!

The staff is amazing, cozy and friendly, the vibe into the hostel is excelent a few minutes from the beach, the burgers and coctails are the Best, i forgot my jacket and the staff sent me my jacket in post service, Maria Mulata is one of the Best options

It markets itself as a coworking space, but it's really not ideal. There aren't many spots at all with outlets, everywhere had flies/mosquitoes, and the wifi is slow. Also, the parrots were beautiful, but they are a really loud alarm clock at 6 or 7am every morning.

I loved that the hostel is very popular in town! In the nighttime, it truly is the hangout spot. It's very chill vibes, very friendly staff. I liked the resident owl! While the wi-fi was slow, they use solar panels to charge it. This allows them to be one of the few spots with wifi when the electricity across the whole town goes out

Accommodation is quite uncomfortable in general. I need to emphasize that when I was at Maria Mulata I felt quite ill and, unfortunately, the facilities were completely unfavorable in terms of comfort for me to recover... The place is already quite hot, but to top it off the two fans on my bed were faulty! If you're going to Palomino thinking about parties and don't intend to spend almost any time at the Hostel, could be a good option for you. However, I don't think it's the best place to rest or to deal with an unforeseen event, like an unplanned illness.

The staff were super attentive and helped me a lot when I felt unwell! They made me a lemon leaf tea with ginger that did me a lot of good! And wild araras frequent the Hostel very close by, as well as the entire Palomino beach.

This was the first hostel where I saw and heard people having sex on the next bed. I immediately left the room at 2 am and called the security guard. I explained to the guard that I would not sleep with this couple in the same room and a conflict might arise. In response, I was offered to spend the night outside in a hammock under mosquitoes. Although the correct decision would be to evict the lovers, since this is a clear strong violation that should be 100% excluded and punished, and innocent guests should not suffer. But the guard did nothing, he didn’t even separate them, they continued to sleep together on the same bed, and I had to continue to endure it. They see it this way - if I don’t like it when someone nearby has sex at a distance of 1 meter, then it’s my fault and the only thing they offered me was to move out of the dorm. I think this was a sign of disrespect for me not only on the part of the loving couple, but also on the part of the hostel administration. I hope in the future there will be a sign on every bed stating that sex is not allowed in the dorms, otherwise chaos will breed more chaos. I wrote this review to make your hostel better and to let future guests know what can happen.

The hostel has a good location near the beach, unlimited coffee, a comfortable bed and lots of animals on site. But the attitude towards guests raises questions for me.

the hostel has 2 parrots that scream incredibly loudly from 5am until about 11am every day without fail so impossible to sleep. there’s only 2 toilets and 1 is shared with the restaurant. not ideal for the amount of guests there. but for the price you can’t go wrong really. it’s the cheapest in palomino

great location, close to everything. always something going on in the hostel you’ll never be bored! great place for solo travellers for meet people. even people who don’t stay there come for food and drinks. unlimited free coffee too!

the room is minimalist, no place to charge the phone because the fan is connected to the electricity, and without the fan you will die of heat. the shower, bathroom and sink are outside which makes you a giant mosquito target, you don’t get a second of peace from those mosquitoes even when you brush you teeth. honestly I couldn’t take it anymore and left after one day.

the price is indeed very low considering the other properties in the area nearby. They offer free cold water refill, and there are different activities every night. location is good, very close to the beach.

At night is very loud, until 4 AM, as there are every day parties at the bar of the hostel. Also the external people who go for party, use the same toilets which are used by the guests (2 toilets in total for the hostel). So if you go to bathroom at night, those might be dirty. But I have also to mention that in the early morning they are cleaned already, so during the day it won’t be a problem. Overall, if you plan to party, then this is your place. if you want to rest, I would not advise to go there.

The hostel is very nice, and in a wonderful location. Nice garden with hammocks. Also nice that there is free water and coffee for guests.

there were ants everywhere in the room and they were biting, it was difficult to get under the mosquito nets when you were in one of the top bunks, very loud because the bar is next to the rooms

Bed very not comfy for 2 people, and as it is mainly a bar you don't have a hostel atmosphere (no chilling room or kitchen).
