How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

A bit far from everything else Big party until 6am one of the nights, we had to cancel the booking (we saw other people leaving as well). But it was a big plus for other people.
Excellent facilities, great for the price, lots of spaces, great breakfast included, super nice and helpful staff. If i come back to Palomino it's highly probably I'll stay there.

it’s not on the Main Street which means having to walk on back deserted roads in the night
very big, very pretty, individual beds rather than bunk beds, individual fan and light with mosquito nets

the informaton about the check out was a litttle confused, but at the end they really help us
the place was wonderfull, really organize and clean, the staff was very helpfull, close to the beach, have a vegetarian options in the restaurant, and very atempt to our bike travel

it was a bit noisy at night because there was à space between the roof and the wall of the room so we could hear the noises coming from outside.
The hostess was very kind and easy going, she made us feel like home when we arrived. Ee also really enjoyed the food and the cocktails. the hostel was very special, we really liked the experience. Thank you !

beautiful property. it is close to the Main Street, but far enough that we don’t hear noise at night. they were very accommodating for my group of friends from the United States. great bar, pool and common space. will return here.

It was far from clean. Especially the bathroom. It had hair everwhere and a lot of dead spiders. They never came and cleaned during our stay and we had to ask for new toilet paper.
The staff is super friendly and the room we had was huge with a very comfortable bed. The place is very cosy and the small pool is a great escape from the heat. Breakfast was ok with three different options. They have a good laundryservice

it’s a bit far from the beach, especially if you’re going through the Main Street (which is nicer) it can get to 20 min walk

- had a problem with the reservation (although we reserved a room with 3 beds the reservation was set for 2 persons, had to pay the remaining 2 at the counter) - the location is just a bit far from the main street (if it rains the path to get there will be very muddy) - to get the beach (same with hostels) an approx. 10 mins walk is needed
- great amenities in general - nice pool area - stylish and confortable breakfast-game-happy hour area - confortable, spacious and clean room for 4 (1 double bed and 2 single beds), fan on top of every bed helps a lot with the heat!

Be aware of the falling mangos.
Simply beautiful! Breakfast was tasty and fresh. I loved the ambient, how they manage to build around the trees. Best value for money in our 7 montha journey. Must go

Unfortunately the person in the morning at reception does not speak English and is not very friendly, I also saw her speaking badly to people from the service.
I loved the attitude and service of Alex, the people in the kitchen and the service people, all very good.

Breakfast was decent but nothing special. The staff is sometimes very slow and only speaks little English. Be aware that is is a 15min walk to the beach.
The hostel is really cool! Especially the chill out areas are very nicely designed (e.g. the working space is built within a tree only accessible by a bridge). We went with friends and had a really good time! Happy hour drinks are really good and cheap! The room was really nice!

Hostel is a little far from the beach, but you can count it as a workout opportunity :)) Only tiny little note - there is no warm water in the showers, but in the Palomino heat one can survive this easily :)
We fell in love with this place! Hostel is full of little corners to chill with your friends. Some nights they have live music so you don't even have to walk out of the hostel. We also booked yoga class which was provided and shown up to be private lesson for us with a great teacher and for a very cheap price. Room was quite spacious, with enough storage space and also with mosquito nets so you can enjoy calm nights :))

Unfortunately it was a bit dead, but it was dead in whole Palomino during my stay. The pool had a bit foggy water and the showers didn't have proper showerheads, only a small pipe with water. Staff at the reception during the day were not very pleased to help with questions.
The hostel looks absolutely beautiful. Decoration, chairs, sunbeds, very well done. Stayed in a 4p room with a couple friends and was really pleased with the it. If it's busy, I think its an awesome place to stay.

Sometimes the noise of nearby animals or vehicles in the morning were a bit annoying. But overall not a deal breaker.
The staff was really welcoming and ready to meet any needs we had and offer us help regarding what to do in the area.
