Rooms where really exposed and we got bit a lot no escape for mosquito's it was raining a lot when we was there so probably made it worse

We really enjoyed our stay!

Great decor, sea view, and friendly staff. Away from the more lively end of the beach the Makao was perfect for us as we wanted to relax. Their beach beds are so comfy and luxurious and give a great view of the ocean. They will serve drinks and snacks to you here and even brought out complimentary fruit platters in the afternoon! The food was excellent - I had the garlic prawns twice because I loved them so much.

The cold showers as it was not possible to get hot showers. The waiting time for the food even thought it is important to note the food was good.

The hotel (includong the location) is really nice and the people working there are amazing (Jesus, Anderson and the others) and make everything they can (with the smile) to make your stay awesome.

The cocktails and food could have been better. Besides that, we loved everything!

The beach is right out front and absolutely beautiful. We loved resting out on the beachside beds and the access to clean towels. The staff was super nice and attentive to our needs! We also appreciated that it didn't have loud music and was much more chill.

Loved everything and everyone

Intimate, cozy and beautifully elegant. Situated away from the party hostels but close enough to go explore easily in the evening. Everything is cleaned to the highest standard. Food is fresh, flavoured and delightful. Super practical facilities available when spending a day between the sea and the sun-bed , I.e. showers, toilets, with running hot water. Above all, the staff in Makao elevate it from a regular hotel to a family friendly experience. They are all brilliant, led by Anderson who is the nicest hotel manager. They all truly became friends.

I was at Makao in February and had a great stay! The location right on the beach is fantastic, rooms are clean, and we enjoyed the food and cocktails from the restaurant/bar. You can take surf lessons right in front of the hotel and we were able to book river tubing there as well. The staff are really friendly and helpful, special thanks to Jesús and Anderson!

What makes all the difference at this small hotel are the lovely and helpful people working here. Always ready to assist with our constant requests for transfers, restaurant recommendations and tips for activities. Their own restaurant is really good and we ended up eating here several times as it was far better than any food we had in Palomino town. The downstairs rooms are simple but fine and with air conditioning whereas the upstairs rooms are a bit fancier, have a better view but no air con. And if you’re a dog lover, there are a couple of really cute resident puppies.

There's nothing to complain about

Incredibly beautiful hotel. Great design. Perfect location just at the beach. Calm and stylish. It's one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed at. The stuff is very friendly, breakfast delicious. And you hear the sea from the room which makes it really beautiful. I will definitely stay here again.

The Food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. The location was amazing and the beach inviting, by walking either left or right you will have plenty to see and enjoy. Our room was right at the front of the hotel. It is a clean and comfortable room, we watched the sea from our bed and never slept so well.

Unfortunately our room was next to the kitchen, so whenever they were cooking we could smell it (which is not necessarily a bad thing). Also, the hot/cold regulator for the shower was broken. You either got scalding hot water or cold, no in-between.

The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and well taken care of. Plus the beach side location is unbeatable.

The Wifi did not always work properly and the shower was most of the time cold. But for us it wasn't a bad thing.

The hotel is right on the beach and offers everything you need to relax. The breakfast was very tasty and plentiful. You have 4 options to choose from. The staff was very friendly. They were always open to fulfilling our every wish.

Not a terrible issue, but the curtains in the room are too small and so people from outside could see you easily if not careful.

Location is great, it’s right in front of the beach, staff are friendly and very helpful.
