1.When dealing with lack of hot water problem, I wasn't offered a solution until after 3 days (communicating the problem every day) I found out myself that in the neighboring suite (which was vacant at the time) there was hot water. Gina moved us quickly and smoothly, though. Hot water there, but water pressure poor. 2. Poor English among staff but it's a general thing about Colombians, even in Alamo rental office at Riohacha airport nobody speaks English. 3. An excessive price difference of over 50% more between a standard room and a slightly bigger one but I guess you can always pick the cheaper option. The more costly one seems rather expensive for the area and still not without flaws (as described above) 4. I'll repeat the remark from other reviews: rooms could have been brighter if it was possible to open the windows/the glass panes were transparent. The only way to let natural light in is to open wide terrace doors. 5. Squeaky doors (rubbing against the floor), too low on the hinges, lifting them up may help a little

1.Very good location, very good starting point for the trips in the region: Tyrona, Santa Marta, Cienaga, Minca, etc. But also great walking area along the beach 2 Safe with security cameras, clean, the beach swept every day, generally friendly staff but not always efficient. Special thanks to Gina who seemed most committed and fast when dealing with a problem. 3. Air-conditioning new and working very well 4. Laid back, relaxing vibe of the place, not very crowded

Staff tried their best, but you can tell they are in need of additional waiters and maybe kitchen employees, they got two of our orders wrong, wait time for food was very long and dishes/drinks came in different order, we also had an issue with a tangled bag inside one of the dishes.

The hotel is great! The beach is very private and eco-friendly, the rooms are amazing with AC and good amenities, food is really good.

The only negative thing was the food was only good, but not amazing. Definitely not a dealbreaker— would stay here again in a second.

The location is super beautiful and quiet, surrounded by nature ( a lot of birds and other animals around), constant sound of the sea was soooo relaxing, swimming pool was also amazing. It was very nuce that this hotel was further from busy Palomino (to Palomino it was only 10min walking distance by the beach) And the staff was brilliant! Very friendly and attentive. Karolina was take super good care of us. Thank you!

Just two small details about the room that could make the experience even more impeccable: Having warmer yellow lights in the room would make it a bit more cosy. The only way to let natural light in is to fully open the windows (meaning without a/c on); it would be amazing if there would be a glass window as to have a bit more natural light.

We stayed 5 nights at Coconuco resort and it was absolutely incredible!  The staff provided impeccable service, being friendly, accommodating, and extremely hospitable. The service had a great personal touch! Special thanks to all staff - Carolina, Osiris, Gina and everybody else who made our stay so wonderful. The price quality of the services offered was excellent, providing exceptional value for the money spent. The resort's location was quiet and serene, offering a peaceful escape, while being a 20min walk away to the town. The well-kept grounds added to the overall charm of the property. The food was of great quality, both dinner as well as breakfast. Cocktails were amazing! Overall, our experience at Coconuco was amazing, with impeccable service, delicious food, great value, a serene location, and well-kept grounds. Highly recommended!

We stayed for 4 nights and loved every second. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We had the double room with the balcony overlooking the pool. The room was incredibly spacious and has lovely views from both front and rear. And a huge comfortable bed! Air conditioning and fan were amazing after a few days in Tayrona. It was fairly quiet so lots of space around the pool or the beach area. Food was great, and good selection. Not so much selection at breakfast but when we asked for cereal they promptly provided it. It’s a little out of the centre of Palomino but a nice walk along the beach which is easy enough after dark too. Unlike the centre of Palomino there is enough beach at higher tide to walk along

Our tour required a short scooter ride to a place in Palomino but we were not given helmets. That is a big problem. I don't care if locals don't use them, it's highly dangerous and just stupid not to wear a helmet that can save your life.

Gorgeous property, super tranquil right on the beach and with a fantastic pool with a kiddie pool attached that has jets and can be heated. The food was really good, and ironically I found the thai-flavored items even better than the local food options. It's about 90 minutes by car from Riohacha airport. The hotel can help arrange day trips that were reasonably priced as you pay directly to the vendors (ie bring cash). The rooms had good A/C and nice big showers with shampoo/soap/conditioner provided. Being your own hand/body lotion if you need it. There were zero vendors on the beach and you could walk for miles in either direction. Oh, and there are gorgeous parrots on the property! Fridge in room was a big plus.

Everything. Our stay was amazing. The location is just perfect. Close enough to Palomino's down town but far enough to be make it a very calm place. The view is stunning and the facilites are great (clean and beautiful). The staff was incredibly nice.We had a wonderful time and we are very greatful with everyone in coconuco for making our stay magical. We highly recommend

The food isn’t great and the restaurant a bit odd as it is a big space with few tables and isolated from the hotel. Rooms are fine - bed was very firm and basic / limited finish internally.

The property is beautiful and overlooking the beach or lush gardens. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Location offers quiet away from centre of Palomino hostels but also a nice walk along the beach to reach town. We decided to stay there as our last destination in South America before going back to the U.K. and glad we did!

Coconuco is the ideal place to relax, enjoy tranquillity, nature and crashing waves. The staff are fantastic, rooms very clean and comfortable and setting exquisite - beautiful gardens and right on the beach. We booked for 4 nights but stayed for 7!

Coconuca is such a nice place. We would love to come back sometime. From the service to the food, the cleanness and all the facilities (pool, sauna, laundry service): it's a great place if you are looking for a hotel to explore Palomina and Parque Tayrona. We loved the garden and the animals (parrots! chipmunks! Birds that make funny sounds!) in it. Even if we didn't speak Spanish, we managed fine with google translate. Staff was very helpfull. Breakfast has plenty of choice and variation.. The beach has lots of trees and shading and sea breeze, so I could read for hours there. Some reviews mention no warm water, but we did have warm water in our shower. Bathroom was superclean too. I also liked the balcony.

Excellent place to take a few days off away from the hustle and bustle. Located a bit far from the action of Palomino but perfect to achieve a good interaction with nature and especially with the beach.

The entrance road is unpaved and a bit bumpy for auto access, and feels a little hard to find. I'm glad we did it during the day. I could also see putting some sort of screen on some of the windows in the cabana rooms, to keep the breeze coming through but stop some bugs.

Carlos provided us among the best customer service we have encountered in Colombia. He clearly cares about the space, customer satisfaction, and is looking to improve the resort year after year. The space itself is recently renovated and with a pleasant area that connects to the beach. We were there while the ocean was high and wild, so we didn't go swimming, but we've been told that seasonally it becomes much calmer. The room was large and well air-conditioned when we wanted it to be, and the spaces around the resort, though small, had a perfect getaway vibe.
