The only issue we had is that in booking our room was a triple room with sea view. when we arrived we got a double room with no view. honestly the room was very nice, and it was only my sister and I. the issue is 1. we paid more money for the triple room with view and didn’t get that, and 2. if we had needed the third bed, it would have been a problem. I remember seeing this in another review, so it is probably worth calling the hotel to confirm they will have the room described in Booking.

It has such wonderful character. great location, design, comfort, ambience and DELICIOUS restaurant. The beach right in front is not too wide but if you walk a couple of minutes to the right (if you’re facing the sea) there’s more space.

There was a woman who I learned was a "sister of the restaurant owner" that was lingering on the property and carried a really weird vibe. It was obvious the STAFF (who were ALL wonderful) were uncomfortable with this woman who was lingering on the property smoking cigarettes. She just carried a very dark vibe which didn't help the experience. This was shared with other people I talked to on the property during the weekend. Maybe this alerts one of the property managers to consider having this woman on the property long term.

Staff were very friendly. The location is perfect, likely one of the best in Palomino. The drinks at the bar from the bartender were also really good as well. This is a nice place, I would come back again.

There was an unusual tide but that does not depend on the hotel. It would've been nice to swim in the ocean a little bit though.

THEY WERE VERY DISSORGANIZED AND RUDE, THERE WAS AN EMERGENCY AND THEY DID NOT HELP. When we arrived they were doing maintenance to a sewer alongside the room and the smell was awful, additionally we realized the room was not correct per the rooms description on booking and the pictures. We decided to go to reception and explain our concerns and the receptionist agreed the room is incorrect and explained to us that the post on booking is wrong and they have had many complains about it. Receptionist then change us to another room for the night and promised to change us to a new room closer to what we reserved the next day as the smell was really bad and they did not have more rooms available. The next day at 10 am they were not very nice at the time they needed for us to change rooms. When we went into the new room, it had a very strong smell to humidity, when we tried to explain our concerns the 2 other receptionists were very rude, make fun of us, and just offer the room of the previous night with really bad smell and not enough beds. That night the first receptionist came to check on and and we talk to her about what happened during the morning, she again agreed the smell was very strong but there was nothing they could do. We ended up staying the whole trip on that room as they were full. Then we got a tour with them and they picked us up, we paid in the entrance of the mountain and then they left us in the mountain, we where the whole time with the guide. When we arrive to the mountain the guide got lost and we ended up 30 minutes in a mountain alone waiting for the lost guide, we had to call back the hotel so they locate the tour guide and just after that he arrived.

We stayed in a building that has not been finished. So we had a lot of noise of people working, hammering and listening to music since very early. At some point, they had to fix something and they just cut the electricity in our room. This was very disappointing as we were escaping the noise of the city and wanted to enjoy the silence of the area.

My room was supposed to have a garden view and a sitting area, but the view was to the street so our room was very noisy, and the sitting area was a tiny balcony with 2 chairs that barely fit. I didn’t want to be in that room, not even at night. The room was extremely hot and didn’t have AC (only 2 fans that blow the same hot air cause you can’t open doors and windows or you’ll be eaten alive by mosquitoes). The hotel shouldn’t offer rooms without AC. The temperature will only get worse.

Although the property is pet friendly, it has too many dogs. Most of them were not guests dogs but nearby locations or street dogs, this limit the ability to enjoy the facilities for guests that are not confortable with so many street dogs around them. Rooms and bathrooms need a bit of maintenance.

I like the concept of the hotel and the food served at the restaurant. All the staff was very attentive. The initiative to have live music over the weekend was great!

We did not realise when we booked that there was no hot water provided in the rooms and was indeed the first hotel that I have ever booked without it! This might not bother some people, but I would have liked to have known this before I booked. There was no hairdryer in the room either and being someone from the UK who found out that their own hairdryer did not work in Colombia due to the voltage difference, this was a massive disappointment. Everywhere else in Colombia provided hairdryers, including more basic hotels! We found the guy on Reception, whilst not exactly rude, was quite indifferent to us and the customer service he provided was considerably lacking! Unfortunately, this is the impression that you are left with. On a positive note the lady on Reception that checked us out was a lot more helpful and she arranged a taxi for us to get to our next stop. Paying £80 Gbp a night we had expected just a little bit more unfortunately.

The hotel itself is in a lovely location right on the beach and has a very rustic feel about it. We had booked "Musica" room which was definitely the best room with a view. The room was simple but nicely decorated in white with a huge colour splashed print on the wall which brightened up an otherwise all white room. There was no hanging space so we used the single bed to house our suitcases and lived out of them for the duration of our stay. With a concrete slab as a base a mattress was then placed on top and as we stayed here for 3 nights we found that the bed became quite unforgiving in its firmness and more uncomfortable the longer we stayed. The view from our room was what made it special. We loved to go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the roaring waves over those three nights. We ate at the restaurant (which I believe is independently owned) on a couple of nights. Every meal that we ate was delicious and reasonably priced.

The room we booked did not have wifi which we really needed to work and chill out after 4 days of hiking. However, in the hotels defense - I'm pretty sure our room (the bungalow / Paluna) was the only room where the wifi did not work. The staff was super sweet and helpfull and gave us another room after some while. Also the hotel did not really live up to the pictures. They would go a long way with a little more effort to clear the leaves all over the property and make the sun chairs a litttle more clean and nice without sand all over. And the tarrace of our bungalow was old and worn out and needed to be changed yesterday.

Breakfast was good and the hotel is right on the beach.

When we arrived (on a Sunday) the place was crowded with people hanging at the pool or dancing with loud music - shocking when you expect to arrive in paradise! Obviously it was open to the public which is okay but it's the hotel's job to ask the non-paying guests to be more respectful instead of us sending them to the party-people. - luckily the next days were really quit and made a better impression. Another point is that the cleaning ladies used a towel for it seems like pee from the dogs on the terrace and THEN put the dirty towel on the bed!! 😳 When you came into the room it smelled soooo bad and the towel had yellow stains in it - they changed our sheets right away! Some staff is a little slow (but nice) - sometimes it took forever to order sth or to get the order. Furthermore, it was a joke to pay for a plate of maximum 10 French fries 8.000 pesos. The beach itself doesn't exist anymore and is nicer when you walk a few meters to the right. Be aware that the waves are breaking really loud and close - if you have a light sleep it'll be mind-breaking.

The hotel itself looks really modern and stylish - especially during the night it is very romantic and sometimes there is a live band that doesn't push the music up to the loudest limit as typical somewhere else in South America. 😉 The food was good. The staff was nice. Many places to hang out. Tours/ spa sessions/ yoga are offered.

The room description is not accurate. Garden view rooms, don’t really have a garden view. Instead, it’s just a small hall. Pictures on booking show a balcony, we had a room on the first floor right next to the laundry room, below stairs and with really low light. A bit disappointing. On the other side, when you book through Booking it does not include breakfast. That has an additional cost. The hotel should specify this on the description.

We were told breakfast is included, it was not. There wasn't even coffee available. Also they started fumigating on the property 30 minutes before checkout so we woke up to poisonous chemicals outside our window. Also, the room was advertised as "ocean view" but you could not see the ocean from the room. Furthermore we woke up to loud drilling... All around not a nice experience. IT's sad too, because this hotel could be really special place, it's a wonderful location and the staff are friendly, it just needs some adjustments.

!! WATCH OUT !! We booked the beach bungalow BUT they have more than one bungalow and we got one in the second row with no beach view. The owner was really unfriendly at our complaint that the pictures in booking don‘t match the house we got. He said that we can also leave without refund. WATCH OUT. BIG SCAM!!

I tried really hard to like this place - it is one of the few that is directly on the beach and the staff are really lovely, but overall, I don't feel that the value is there. The photos are misleading in that there is considerable erosion of the beach and the property drops onto exposed concrete supports, and then onto the beach, making it both unsightly to look at it and in parts unsafe to walk on. I realize that erosion is partly out of the hotel's control but it means that there is no beach front privacy any more and there is not enough beach left to walk on from one hotel/restaurant to another. Considering how spread out the town is, this beachfront access is definitely part of what I thought I was paying for, but didn't get. My room was advertised as a garden suite but I had a concrete patio closed in by a fence on 3 sides; definitely not a garden. The rooms are not always cleaned well. I also had the unfortunate experience of being next to a room that was being renovated during my stay, with staff taking breaks outside my bathroom window (even looking into my window at times). The owner DID apologize when she found out, and I honestly don't think it would happen to another guest, but unfortunately their apology ended with a comment about uneducated staff which rendered the apology as insincere.

The front staff are really nice and try their best to help. The background music played throughout the day and evening was nice for creating ambiance - and probably some of the best in the Palomino area. The grounds are lit with fairy lights and there are birds and squirrels throughout the trees. The rooms are stylishly designed with effort put into comfort for longer stays.

when we got there stuff wasn’t too welcoming except , not all staff I must say but a few made the difference, went to the bar nobody was there to tend , so we decided to go somewhere else instead ; the bathroom needs a good scrub and better maintenance, and the bed sheets had stains on them ! I honestly don’t think the stay was worth the price the only good thing was the cuteness of the hotel and was I front of beach ! but if you want a different place to go for drinks or food you will have to walk a bit or cross the other hotels
