Empire State Building
Stretching into the sky at 120 storeys high, the Empire State Building was once the tallest building in the entire world. Not for the faint of heart, its observation deck provides a bird’s-eye view of NYC. Dodge the crowds by visiting between 8 and 11AM, and snap photos uninterrupted with the Big Apple as your backdrop.

We really enjoyed our room with a view on the Empire State Building! The staff was friendly and efficient. The hotel was beautifully decorated with flowers at the entrance. They give you a 30 USD credit to spend on food at the hotel's bar.
Great stay at this hotel. Our room had the most amazing few of the Empire State Building. The room was a great size for New York and had everything that we needed. The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was a problem. Location was excellent too with lots of nice restaurants nearby.
The room was very large. I have stayed in hotel rooms a third of this size in NYC before. Room was comfortable, and even had a view of the Empire State Building (if you crane your beck a bit) out of the window.
Easy walk from Penn Station for our journey to Newark airport. Staff were enthusiastic, welcoming and we really liked the warm cookies on arrival. We went out in the evening with our two teenagers- we visited Times Square the Empire State Building and other attractions all within walking distance of the hotel, We arrived back at 10.30 pm and the area around the hotel still felt very safe to us.
The hotel is a nice boutique hotel in a perfect location. We had a wonderful experience, with the Double Double Empire State View Room, the view was beautiful at night to watch the Empire State Building light up while your laying in bed. The service was good, with friendly and accommodating front reception desk. The food at the Archer lobby restaurant had a fantastic breakfast menu and the food was exceptional. The location is perfect, very close to Time Square, Empire State Building, 5th Ave for shopping.
Restaurant is open 24hours and caters for all appetites - hotel is within walking distance of broadway , Times Square , Macy’s and Empire State Building- right next to bus station we got a bus to jersey garden shopping centre - there is a McDonald’s and Starbucks directly across the road from the hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful . The night staff are excellent ensuring those with key cards only have access to the lifts to bedrooms felt very safe in this hotel
Everything about this hotel was perfect, room was a high standard, spacious and comfortable with an amazing view of the Empire State Building. Location felt really safe, subway is on next street and was really convenient for getting around. Also easy walking distance to many areas including Penn station for the journey from and to the airport. Lots of food and drink options on your doorstep too. I would definitely stay here again.
Close to time square and major attractions like central park , Bryant park empire state building and top of the rock . location is the plus point of this hotel. free tea coffee all day and filtered water excellent stuff
the hotel Gregorian is in a good location, near Empire State Building and Briant park, where (when the weather is fine) you can enjoy breakfast in a very pleasant setting. Beside of breakfast, there's plenty to eat and drink in the surrounding area. At least all the sights are within walking distance.
Location is absolutely great, very good transport (and by foot) accessibility to all main landmarks! Our room had a view to Empire State Building, what was truly awesome. Lots of places to have breakfast / lunch / dinner close to the hotel.
Our room has almost everything (except for the closet), that you need in a 8-day trip - comfortable bed, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, TV, small safe deposit.
Very nice, friendly and open to help staff is working at this hotel!

My best suggestion is to do the Empire State Building at night
If you want to avoid the crowds then I suggest going very early or late. My best suggestion is to do the Empire State Building at night. I went at 11.30 and didn't wait in line at all!! It's also open til 2am.

This meant we didn't waste half our day queueing for an attraction (queues for Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building were horrendous and did not offer the option to book a time)
Check if you can book in advance. The best thing we found was booking a time slot early in the day (at Rockefella and 9/11 Memorial) and returning later in the day after experiencing places where you didn't have to queue (Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge). This meant we didn't waste half our day queueing for an attraction (queues for Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building were horrendous and did not offer the option to book a time).
