Everything was as advertised. We got an airport shuttle in both directions and he was always on time. Breakfast was delicious -- better than any continental breakfast I have had at a hotel in the USA. It comes out buffet style and isn't under warmers, which others have complained about but I thought it was fine. The pool and restaurant are both on the 7th floor and they're lovely; I highly recommend getting a meal at the restaurant and eating it at one of the tables by the pool that overlooks the city. I really don't know the area, so I can't say if it is in a good location or not, but I always felt safe enough for someone traveling internationally.

Excellent staff, great central location and newly renovated rooms! The staff were extra helpful with helping us get breakfast bowls early in the morning and arranging a taxi to the airport for us. Excellent rooms, excellent service! Best of all, very hot showers following a few days in the jungle!

The staff is by far the greatest asset of Gree Diamond Lodge. They are exceptional. The beds could be improved. In my opinion the single best improvement they could make is finding a way to provide fans in the rooms, possibly powered by solar. The heat and humidity are quite overwhelming.

Puerto Maldonado is a little off the beaten path as far as tourist destinations go, so therefore it doesn’t have the modern comfort amenities that most tourists are accustomed to. However, if you are a nature enthusiast and want a real and authentic Amazon experience and friendly people, Puerto Maldonado is a great place to see the Amazon in the raw.

Pretty small town, and only visited the area around centro (Plaza de Armas), but it was well-kept and had plenty of restaurants and a bank. Ate at two nearby restaurants (Burgos's and Carrion32), both of which were quite good and reasonably priced. It's also only 15-20 soles to ride a tuktuk-like taxi to or from the airport, and each fits up to 3x passengers if you are not carrying a ton of luggage. The taxis are fun too!

The town itself is basic but it's a great base for many nearby places to see wildlife. There are a lot of great day tours in the area, so you can stay in Puerto two or three days and do day tours while you organize an overnight trip.
Many tour agencies charge more for online reservations because platforms charge them up to 25% commission. If you go to Puerto Maldonado you can book all your tours in person. There is a small street just off the Plaza de Armas with a dozen agencies. Walk around, compare service and prices before choosing day tours. Do a few day tours and then go to an eco-lodge for a 3 or 4 day trip into Tambopata National Park.

There is not much to do in the city itself.
There is not much to do in the city itself. No reason to visit the city except as a starting point for visits to the Tambopata reserve near by. That is certainly worth a visit of several days, Lago Sandoval, Collpa de Chuncho, adventure day with canopy walks, ziplines, kayaks, etc. The three different guides we experienced during our stay were excellent, knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Lots of nature to see in this luscious jungle area.

The amount of unique life in the Amazon, right outside Puerto Maldonado was stunning and our tour guides’ knowledge of everything was so impressive. Did not get to spend much time in town but the beauty and wonder just up the river where we stayed was astounding.

The hotel is immaculately clean and very comfortable. lots of area upstairs for relaxing outside of your room in a communal area. Great value for money and the staff were friendly and helpful. They brought a dog bed and water n food bowels for my dog. This was a nice touch but I had to pay for it… 30 soles extra was charged for my stay that I wasn’t happy about but receiving the dog bed for loan for the night made up for my disappointment.
The breakfast was excellent!!!
Loved the concept of the hotel, how laid-back the property and staff was and the level of attention and care given to all guests. It is a great option for travelers who are not yet too comfortable with staying at a jungle lodge cut off from the main urban centre, but still want to explore the Amazon at their own pace and with the comfort of a hotel with adequate facilities for the environment.
Amazing staff, wonderful setting!! AC is only available on the top/penthouse floor, so prepare for heat! Richard & Claudia made our stay absolutely exceptional. Very tailored service. The rooms are clean and comfy. The food is wonderful and great big portions. Ecotours available directly through the hotel, private or bigger tour groups. Richard is truly the best!!
The property is definitely one of the best in Puerto Maldonado. The guide was outstanding; he was knowledgeable, friendly, caring, and careful. A few waiters were nice and personable, but most of the staff was average or below. The food tasted good and the meal choices were good considering where you are at.
One of the best hotels of our Peru trip. The staff are so friendly and super helpful. The rooms are very lovely. Such a good value! As a family we got a little suite. Most importantly they have functioning AC! They also accommodated an early breakfast for us since our flight was leaving early in the morning.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the person running the desk and the hotel was really helpful and nice. The fan also kept the room plenty cool enough for us to sleep during a 28 degree night.
It is set in very beautiful surroundings and the pool does offer a nice place to chill from the jungle heat.
the location was wonderful. so much wildlife to see. we saw monkeys and toucans and macaws from the porch of our bungalow. the family that runs this resort are wonderful as well. they are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. they helped plan all our excursions and tours and we had such a wonderful time.
We enjoyed the beautiful lodge and delicious food. Beds were comfortable and we were grateful that the entire cabin was screened in (vs some lodges that only provide mosquito netting around the beds). This meant we could enjoy the room, take a shower, etc, without fear of becoming a meal for the bugs.
This hotel is located between the main square of Puerto Maldonado and the river. The hotel has a pool and a restaurant. Puerto Maldonado is quite vibrant city, different from what we’ve seen in Peru. It’s a mixture of Latin America with Thailand or Laos.
A little oasis right in the centre of Puerto Maldonado. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The pool is small, but enough to cool down from the heat. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere. And breakfast is amazing as well!
Had a lovely time at the inkaterra. Our guide Nixon was amazing and very knowledgeable he had a story for everything. Thank you so much for looking after us and showing us the Peruvian Amazon which was a dream come true.
Spacious and comfortable room. Nice and friendly atmosphere. Very helpful staff. Decent breakfast. Good location. Nice pool to chill. The hotel offers great day tours and the possibility to stay in a lodge.
We liked this hotel a lot: welcoming stuff, good breakfast was good, hot water and conditioner worked very well. It was very quiet at night. We later stayed in other place and regret. Highly recommend!
We loved staying here, we came to Peru for a two week vacation and this was our favourite hotel. The owner is very sweet, attentive and helpful. We would recommend anyone to stay here.
Amazing property in a more remote and less manipulated part of the Peruvian Amazon. The lodge itself is beautifully maintained from the front steps to your own room!
