Our room was a good size and had a small peekaboo view of the sea. Breakfast was the most delicious we had on a 3 week trip! Bed was comfy and shower had great water pressure.

The hotel property, that is a meticulously restored historic mansion, is absolutely stunning! We stayed in a villa with a private pool, with views of the sea and the surrounding gardens, vineyards, olive groves, and cypress trees. The words cannot describe the beauty of this place! We enjoyed seeing the many animals that live on the property and are lovingly taken care of. The friendly and always accommodating staff went out of their way to fulfill our every wish, especially Lorenzo, who arranged our accommodation. We loved the fresh and healthy Mediterranean cuisine with emphasis on the produce grown in the hotel’s gardens. The freshly squeezed orange juice and the Kinsterna house wines were amazing. The daily baked fresh crusty bread that came with our Greek salad was the best we ever had! Cannot wait to come back!

The Medieval fortress of Monemvasia is truly amazing with it’s cobbled streets and alley ways. The fortress and church at the top are a must see but the walk uphill is difficult. It needs to be noted that like all of Greece this place has a lot of ups and downs so you need to have fairly good mobility. But the hmm and authentic architecture is a must see.Much has been restored to it’s original structures. The vistas of the sea is awesome.

An amazing place, very pretty.
An amazing place, very pretty. Worth climbing up the steps, but not for the feint hearted, and wear trainers. I would imagine it gets very busy so would recommend going early. And worth getting the shuttle bus, it’s further than you think.

Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring.
Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring. As long as you are reasonably fit and mobile there is a lot to explore. A few shops and tavernas, bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. History oozes from every stone. I did not like to see the horses laden with stone carrying to and from the building works, slipping on the steep cobbled streets. There are workers with trolleys and wheel Barrows to carry your luggage if you want but nowhere is that far away, pack very light though. Parking is restricted so drop off your stuff at the gate and go away to park, or get a bus from the town on the mainland. It's not the easiest plave to access but it is worth it.

Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated.
Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated. The hiking trails around the castle and Kalives are often ignored in favor of the castle, which is a crime. The castle is obviously the big attraction here and it's worth it alone. I would suggest staying in Gefira and walking up the castle if you are physically able instead of driving. Skorpios (in Gefira) and Matoula (in the castle) were my favorite places to eat at. By no means should you neglect to try the local wines, especially Malvasia.

It was cool to realize you were staying in something that existed 500 years before you were born, before planes, trains and automobiles... Accomodation was basic, but clean and comfortable. Staying here is about the experience, not the amenities. We really enjoyed our visit. I loved exploring the ruins of the upper town at sunrise. It is a very cool experience.

Unique experience to stay on The Rock!
Unique experience to stay on The Rock! Hike to the upper ruins is a must do, we should have done it upon arrival but waited til the morning of our departure. I would have preferred sleeping in, longer time at wonderful breakfast buffet, and relaxing on our balcony before leaving …. there’s always next time.
monemvasia is amazing. you are in the actual old town of a 14-16 century fortress. this is not like being in a usual hotel with a fortress nearby. the atmosphere is fantastic. the hotel provides a nice breakfast. your room is small and dark but it’s built into the ancient walks and stays cool that way. we had a balcony looking out over the ocean. there are great restaurants and wonderful hikes through the upper town and fortress. definitely do this on your trip.
Great location in the castle. It is one of the first homes, therefore the walk is easy. The house is large, clean and has a wonderful patio with a view. The castle is MAGICAL! The host had a salad and a bottle of wine waiting for us! She was extremely gracious and accommodating as she let us leave at our convenience upon checkout because there were no guests coming in that day. I would visit there again and again.
Located a few kilometres along the coast with easy drive to restaurants and one of the nicest is half way to town. There is a shop close by. The upstairs apartment is a little dated but spotlessly clean and we had a balcony with fabulous 180 degree view of Monemvasia and coastline. Fotini is an amazing host and cook. Our breakfasts were the best we've had during our whole trip in Greece. Thankyou Fotini.
Very good location, quiet and peaceful hotel outside the town Monemvasia. Great pool - we had a very windy weather, so we could only swim in the pool, which was always prepared. Thanks to the staff for the cleanliness of the room. There is a great Greek restaurant within a short walk - we definitely recommend a visit. In any case, it could be said that it was the best dinner during our trip to Greece.
The room is located in the castle of Monemvasia, an amazing experience to walk in the little streets and wonder about the old alleys and squares. The owner was friendly and provided us with loads of information, fruit, and bottled water during our stay. The place is an old medieval house and we occupied the upper floor which was an experience worth living.
Staff is fantastic and very helpful. Great swimming pool (area) with a bar and more than enough sun beds with umbrellas during high seasons. Stunning view on Monemvasia. Very nice and extensive breakfast. Hotel and rooms are new with comfortable airconditioning.
The places deserves nothing than a 10.
Our room at klelia hotel was nice clean and comfortable, with a sea view balcony. The hotel has a good position from the centre of Gefira (about ten minutes walk) and from Monemvasia (about twenty minutes walk). The lovely girl at the reception is extremly kind and professional.
This is a fantastic family hotel !!! A really hidden place nearby Monemvasia... amazing view, nice pool, possible to swim directly in the sea, exceptional food and the service is great !!!!! Everyone should book this hotel, impossible to find a better place in this area.
Our room was in one of the old buildings within the walls of Monemvasia. It was charming and it felt like we were staying on a castle. We had a balcony overlooking the main square. Breakfast was very good. The hotel staff were all great. We loved staying in Monemvasia.
Very welcoming and attentive service. Very clean and brealfast, food and drinks were very nice. Nice views and sitting areas. Size of the hotel ment that it was relaxed and not overcrowded. Huge plus is the awesome salt-water pool overlooking the rock of Monemvasia.
Hotel is located just before the bridge to the Monemvasia. Staff is very helpfull and we have got all info we asked for. A nice beach is just a few steps away from the hotel and there is a lot of good restaurants around it.
we loved the old world feel.
room was spacious and charming.
a different experience to be within the castle walls. the views from the room and area were lovely. great breeze. breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
If you expect 5 star hotel that is not it, but if you want to spend time in medieval house, in 1400 + years castle city with the great view on the see and protective wall go for it. The vibe is definitely there.
Very good old fashion small family run hotel , solid 3 stars. Great base to explore Monemvasia which is 10-15 walk away. Great breakfast. Good location across street from beach. Friendly owners.
