The host made us feeling like home. She is extremely welcoming, prepares amazing breakfast, coffee and house-made lemonade in-between. I can definitely recommend the offered tour to the Tatacoa desert. They also organized a collectivo back to neiva for us.

Mirador Valle de la Tatacoa in Villavieja provides accommodation with a garden and a terrace. There is an on-site restaurant and free private parking. We had such a lovely and laidback time. If you want the full desert experience with nothing but nature around you, you are at the right place. José was a really friendly, funny and generous host. The place is beautiful, the cabaña was comfortable and clean, the food delicious and we couldn't have wished for anything more. My recommendation would be: stay more than one night ;) it's worth it ¡Muchisimas gracias!

Biohotel tatacoa Qji is set in Villavieja and has a pool with a view and garden views. There is an in-house restaurant and free private parking. We loved our time!! Such a wonderfull secluded place with cute cozy glamping houses. We really loved ours with balcony and shower in the house but still like being in a treehouse. We wish we had more time to stay.. lying in the hammock was our favo moment. Watching stars and the full moon. The 2 ladies that run the place in the day are such a gem.. so accomodating with all your wishes. They go out of their way to give you a great experience! Also the night guy was very nice and helpfull. All of the staff is 5 star worth.. they checked on us before we arrived untill we left. If you seek for an off the beaten experience in the desert in all comfort choose them. We had a magical time

Hotel Shaddai features a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Villavieja. Very quiet and tranquil the staff is excellent.Juan Felipe, Raphael andBrian are the best. Very attentive and eager to accommodate. Food is very good. The outdoor space is lovely, great place to relax and read a book The personal pool is very nice as well. The kettle for coffee and tea in the room is a great idea.

Situated in Villavieja, Avani del desierto has a garden, restaurant, bar, and free WiFi throughout the property. There is free private parking and the property features paid airport shuttle service. The location is great as it’s really close to the Tatacoa Desert. We stayed here for one night on a ride through South America on our motorcycles. Ricardo and his wife are really pleasant people and we were able to store our bike there for the day while we were visiting the desert.

Like all the other reviews have already mentioned, Sandra is amazing. She was super helpful storing my luggage twice while I was there. Anything she could help with she did. Her breakfast is amazing and made with fresh local bread and produce (she invited me to join her buying the ingredients for breakfast around town), she set up a van to pick me up from the hostel and drive me back to Neiva, and she took her time to sit down and chat with me over coffee even though my Spanish is horrible! The hostel is literally two blocks from the town center and from there you can catch a tuk tuk to the dessert. All the beds are full size with multiple pillows. She is also friends with the local guides if you'd prefer to do a tour!

A recently renovated guest house, LUNA del DESIERTO TATACOA offers accommodation in Villavieja. Free WiFi is available and private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. I stayed in a private room and it was great value for money. Andrea was so kind and helpful, offering me food and drinks throughout my stay. She also helped me to organise a wonderful tour in the desert and my bus back to Neiva. Good kitchen and Wi-Fi. Luna the dog was so cute too!
