This is great for couples with the cozy fireplace and firepit outside. A romantic getaway
If you're looking for a relaxing getaway in a quiet town,...
If you're looking for a relaxing getaway in a quiet town, Cherokee is the place for you. There is minimum to do there, but it is nice if youre looking for a relaxing weekend.
Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg, TN are about an hour or so away and the drive is about 30-40 minutes (depending on traffic and weather) of scenic views - with pull offs for you to take pictures or take a break if needed.
Cherokee does have the Harrah's Casino and really thats the only thing going on up there. We did eat at 2 places in Cherokee - Grannys Kitchen (buffet) & Osaka Sushi Bar & Asian Cuisine.
Grannys Kitchen was packed when we rode by and had excellent reviews online. So we knew it was going to be good - but we were wrong. Its a "buffet" with only 1 line of food...thats it. The food was bland and the collards tasted like they were cut, put into a pot of just water with an onion and thats it. The cornbread, I could lay foundation with how hard it was and everything else was just mediocre. The server we had was nice, but for 2 people at the buffet with one drink (Sprite) was $40 and some change.
Osaka was decent, but I have had better. The server we had was nice and attentive, but the food just wasnt hitting on anything.
Personally, you would just be better off going the extra miles to Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg to have a better time and better food.

We chose this property as the property description stated...
We chose this property as the property description stated that it was .3 miles from the Cherokee Casino, which would have been walkable to the concert that we were attending. It turned out to be WAY longer than .3 miles and we needed to drive instead. This really impacted our plans and the actual proximity to the casino is VERY misleading. Being older means that we are not as able-bodied as we used to be and the main reason we chose this hotel was the proximity to the casino, thinking that we would be able to enjoy a few cocktails while on vacation and be able to walk back to our hotel room. Very deceptive property description!

Great hotel and the employee’s were friendly and helpful.
Great hotel and the employee’s were friendly and helpful. The only negative was the bonus spins on slot machines they did not pay. I realize that winning isn’t easy they wouldn’t be in business if everyone won. But getting 12 or 15 free spins and it pays less than you bet isn’t fun.

This is very much tourist town, everywhere trying to sell cheap souvenirs and the like. The casino dominates the town, (Not worth a visit in my view, see separate review). The town was a convenient place to stop located near both the Blueridge Parkway and Great Smokey Mountains.
We found a decent, basic hotel to be the MicroTel and there was a Japanese restaurant a few doors down which had good food at fair prices.
If traveling again, I’d try not to stay in Cherokee, hopefully finding something away from the tat.

Everything about the hotel and casino or excellent.
Everything about the hotel and casino or excellent. I’ve stayed at several casinos before and resorts found Cherokee resort to be the nicest of all hotel and casino or beautifully laid out in the in an extremely beautiful location felt we could move around safely with no concerns once again, stay was excellent.
The heated swim pool is large and heated very well (not cold upon entering the water when it is 34 F outside). The hot tub is properly hot but not too hot. By most importantly, the water is very clean. Don’t listen to others who complains about the decorations. The pool area has no fancy new tiles, but the water is very clean! Moreover, the hotel has not many guests even if this is Oct peak foliage season for the great Smokey. My husband and I had the entire pool and the hot tub to ourselves! What a treat!
The location was great, Cherokee is a beautiful town and the hotel fits in nicely. We also loved the pool and the hot tub which we used extensively until it closed at about 11 pm. Room was spacious and had a fridge. For breakfast, walk across the street to Peter's Pancakes and Waffles. Fantastic diner! But since you are not the only person/group that is craving for a proper breakfast better reserve a table before you go.
Very quite location and not many hotels with inside entrances in Cherokee. Also we were going to be late checking in they called to see about what time we would be arriving the front desk closes at 10 but they said it wouldn't be a problem we didn't arrive until almost 11pm the girl at the front desk stayed over and was so nice! Thank you
The hotel was way better than expected. Staff was great, rooms were very clean, and the breakfast was good. If we had one complaint, it was that the hotel needs a sign and some lighting outside. We found out that the place is in a bit of a transition phase in regards ownership, so perhaps these issues will be addressed.
Convenient access to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. If you want something fancier, stay at the casino. If you want clean, well maintained and safe, this hotel is a good option. It is right next to a grocery store and several fast food restaurants and short drive from other places to eat in Cherokee.
The staff at the front desk were so friendly, and I loved that this was a small local motel instead of it being a larger commercial hotel. The location of the motel is right on the river. Each room has a balcony that overlooks the river and we had so much fun feeding the ducks each morning!
We got move the second day to a room where the heat was working well. We will stay there again as it's the best bang for the buck in Cherokee. An older hotel but for the most part well kept. We have stayed there a few other times with no problems. Just don't expect the Ritz.
One of the cleanest & most up-to-date hotels in Cherokee, which is amazing because it is consistently one of the cheapest! Also, it is located just across the street from the casino - only a couple blocks from the main entrance.
This little motel sits right in the heart of Cherokee just outside of the Smoky Mountains national Park. It has a nice pool. The rooms are nice. The views in the location are perfect. The staff very nice and accommodating.
Staff was very friendly. Checknin was easy. Room was clean, no bugs. Tv worked great. Air cond. Was good. Beds were comfortable. Nice pool. Hotel right on the river. Quiet and peaceful. Close to shopping.
this hotel was exceptional if I go to Cherokee again this is where I stay I told all my co-workers and it was excellent how it was if this hotel is rated a 3 1/2 stars it should be a 5 star no doubt.
The room was big enough for the three of us. The location is perfect to go up to HWY 441 to TN, or the Blue Ridge Parkway, several trails are close to the hotel, the casino and the visitors center.
This hotel is very clean, well kept and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a short walk to.the casino and there is a free shuttle on friday and Saturday nights.
We always stay at this location when we travel to Cherokee. The rooms are great, The beds are super comfortable and if you get a balcony room the view is pretty awesome.
