Monument Valley is an awesome place.
Monument Valley is an awesome place. We took the tribal sunrise tour and I highly recommend it! We were planning to take the stargazing tour but it was cloudy, so they offered the sunrise tour or a reschedule in it's place. They also offered a refund, so I really appreciated the options..

Mainly a passing town and not worth a night as the hotel prices are pretty steep. Less food choices as well. One way to see this place is arrive in the morning and leave by late afternoon. A few hours is what you need.

Great spot for a tour both a guided and a self guided if you have time. Just prepare for the weather if you are doing a tour on an open bus! Great Navajo guides and a great opportunity to learn more about Native American people.

in order to best take in the valley - I would give yourself a full day to do the scenic drive within the park, and check out some of the other scenic spots nearby. The scenic drive is only available for a short window mid day so plan accordingly. the formations and local pride in the area is very memorable.

The amount of construction around the scenic areas is shocking. I never expected Monument Valley to be in the middle of housing. It was a very sad thing to see. I guess it's the smell of money that changed Monument Valley into a kind of Disneyland. Based on what I saw, I would not make a detour.

Monument Valley is to be experienced!
Monument Valley is to be experienced! We both drove it ourselves and took a tour. I would highly recommend MV Dineh Rebekah (SP?) Cultural Tour which took us behind public areas and we had the attention of a Dineh Guide. It was magical.

Stayed here for 1 nights, 2 adults 3 kids 17, 13 and 11. To call this a One-Bedroom Suite dose not do it justice.more like a one bedroom chalet with large kitchen and living space. We had our own parking space right out side our front door. fantastic views from our veranda. Nice restaurant located in beside the main hotel, not too expensive considering the location and a children's menu available. Fantastic friendly and competent staff. I would insist friends and family stay in this hotel if visiting Monument Valley.
Right in Monument Valley. Gouldings offers several different lodging options. We stayed in one of the separate “cabins” with a kitchenette. The extra space was great and the views were spectacular. We initially had a problem with the TV but someone came right away to fix it (we were missing a remote). We also booked one of their tours of Monument Valley. Scenery was great.
The place was great, there was a museum, small theatre, grocery store, restaurant, gift shop, laundromat, and gas station around the hotel. The room is so clean and lovely, a balcony to view the Monument Valley all day. We would like to go back again to fully experience the park when it reopens.
It was well located for a visit to Monument Valley. It was a spacious unit, with a kitchenette and a separate bedroom, a little away from the reception, swimming pool and dining room, but that worked ok. We also did a Gouldings tour with a local Navajo guide, which was excellent.
We actually preferred staying in a cabin rather than the lodge. It was very serene and peaceful. We drove up to the lodge for dinner and thru the museum and gift shop. Our view of Monument Valley from our front porch for the sunrise was beautiful! Would stay here again.
The cabin was very spacious and clean. The view from the front patio of the cabin and lovely and we watched the sunrise over Monument Valley from there the morning we were there. All services were very close to the cabin.
The view was awesome. Monument valley was great. Staff was very friendly and they had a few historical buildings to tour for a small fee. Food was good at the restaurant. And it had an indoor pool. That was great.
Brilliant location to get to monument valley, with fantastic sunrise views. The room (double queen suite) was comfortable, and able to prepare food which was a nice plus. Great facilities nearby.
loved the old feel to the property. Even though it was dated it was very clean and comfortable. Loved the history of the lodge. The views from our balcony were amazing!
